Polar Plunge at Sunset Beach

Kick off the New Year with a SPLASH at the first ever Polar Plunge at Lake Sammamish State Park!

The festivities will begin at 10:30am with registration, music and merriment on the shore. The plunge is at 11:00am. Warm up afterwards with hot drinks, concessions and Ivar’s clam chowder. The first 200 registered participants will receive a Polar Plunge knitted hat and the choice of a coffee or hot cocoa.

Get your friends or colleagues together and organize a team, or just come solo. Costumes and team t-shirts are encouraged! Spectators are encouraged to come out to cheer on the athletes as they take a dunk in the freezing waters of Lake Sammamish.

The entry fee is a minimum $10 donation to Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park, a 501c(3) non-profit dedicated to supporting, promoting and enhancing the park. All proceeds go toward habitat restoration and capital projects that improve the park for everyone.

Register on Eventbrite today.

Polar Plunge is sponsored by Rowley Properties, the City of Issaquah and the City of Sammamish.

Please note that a $10 Discover Pass is normally required to enter the park but January 1, 2020 is a free day so no pass is required.
