Park Restoration

Come to Lake Sammamish State Park with a team of colleagues or friends and help us restore the park by removing invasive species and planting native trees and bushes. Areas that have been previously restored and planted with native plants also need continued maintenance to prevent the re-establishment of invasive blackberry. Make a big difference, enjoy a day outside with this fun, hands-on opportunity and learn about invasive species and all that is being done to restore areas of the park to their natural beauty.

Special Event Support

Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park hosts a variety of events throughout the year and we always need volunteers. All of the events are a lot of fun and service credit is provided to school students. Annual events at the park are Polar Plunge, Walk n Wag, Camp S’more, etc.

Park Beautification

Help us keep Lake Sammamish Park beautiful by coming out to help plant trees, flowers and assist with gardening. This would be a great activity for a group of people who love gardening and have a little bit of time to give.

Private Group Volunteering

FLSSP is happy to host private volunteering events for your community or corporate group looking to have a fun team-building experience and give back to the community. We provide tools, gloves and a project, as well as a volunteer or staff lead to help guide the work. We can easily accommodate groups of 20-25; please contact our Executive Director at director@flssp.org to arrange for a larger group project. We encourage our volunteers to "be safe, have fun, and get some work done," and past participants have enjoyed seeing the results of their labor at the park, whether it be a litter-free beach or picnic area, a weeded and mulched garden bed, a wall of blackberry removed, or new plants in the ground. Please complete this form to start the scheduling process.
