Join us for Night of the Living Blackberry August 5th

On August 5th join us for our next Lakeside Lecture where we will have a robust discussion about blackberry - how it came to be in the Pacific Northwest and what we can do to stop its spread. FLSSP will be welcoming Dan Hintz with the City of Issaquah, Michael Bailey with the Snoqualmie Tribe and Ashley Shattuck with King County Noxious Weed Control Board to help us better understand blackberries in the Pacific Northwest. We plan to spend the last 30 minutes or so (if we have time) walking over to one of our FLSSP restoration sites at Lake Sammamish State Park, Tibbetts Creek Site, to give you an opporunity to visually see some of the smaller scale restoration work being done here at the park to combat the spread of blackberry and support fish recovery, wildlife and native trees and shurbs.

Our Lakeside Lectures are free and open to the public with registration (register here). There is limited seating in the Meadows Shelter and we do regularly fill this event so please register today if you plan to attend. A day pass or Discover Pass is required to park at Lake Sammamish State Park. We hope to see you at the event on August 5th starting at 5:30 in the Meadows Shelter.
