Spring into Fun this March, April and May at the Park
Have you driven by Lake Sammamish State Park and wondered what there is to do at the park in spring - well we have an answer for you! Join FLSSP and its many partners at one of our fun FLSSP hosted park events this spring.
March is full of fun and adventure with the start of our restoration series and swinging into a full year of FLSSP hosted community events at the park. On March 14th in partnership with Art Commons we will be hosting “The Fallow Season - a Creative Summit” about the purpose of dormancy and inaction and the ways that art and life can flow from such spaces. Register for this free event today! If getting outside is more your groove, FLSSP is launching its spring restoration series starting on March 21st. Come on out to the park rain or shine from 10 am - noon to help us dig out blackberries from the Tibbets site to keep our newly planted trees healthy (register here to help). If you really just want to know more about what there is to do around your town join us on March 28th from 10 am - 1 pm and explore the over 35 vendors teaching you about outdoor and indoor recreation around your community at Spring into Adventure. If your March weekends are full there is always some fun to be had at the park in April too! Our second Lakeside Lecture Series all about Bats will be held on April 8th starting at 5:30 pm in the Meadows. Join us and Bats Northwest to talk about Bats, Bats and more Bats! Register here to attend this free lecture today (seating is limited and a waitlist will go into effect after the seating is sold out). You can also get your hands dirty on April 18th at our second restoration event of the year- check out our events page here to register. If you want to make it a full day of hands on fun on April 18th stay and join our Gathering Abundance Series starting at 1 pm and work with Alora to learn about and make paper from Reed Canary grass. This hands on makers series is limited to just over 20 people so get your tickets today here.
FLSSP will have just as much fun in May. We will kick off our May bringing back a community favorite - Walk n’ Wag. Join us on May 9th for a fun 3K walk, costume contest and more. Public registration for the event will open soon, but vendor registration is now live. If you know of a business or non-profit that would like to showcases its work with your furry family and friends please register to be a vendor here.
