Come Visit FLSSP at the Issaquah Sustainability Fair March 30th

Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park is excited to be joining the Issaquah Sustainability Fair March 30th from 10 am - 3 pm at the Pickering Barn. The Issaquah Sustainability Fair is designed to inspire, educate, and engage a wide audience in climate and sustainability initiatives. The fair will showcase live demos of products, an opportunity to sit in the public works trucks, a chance to recycle batteries and lightbulbs, a space to learn more about the Snoqualmie Tribe’s Ancestral Lands Movement, an invite to take a mini field trip to a salmon restoration site, and the time to chat with and visit a variety of people working with organizations and agencies to make climate smart actions and sustainability a part of our everyday lives.

FLSSP will be there to talk about our work to enhance and support Lake Sammamish State Park and our restoration efforts along Tibbetts Creek, a salmon bearing stream. While visiting with us you can sign up to receive our monthly newsletter, sign up to join our monthly restoration events, ask us about our work at the park, support our efforts, and take home some fun items.

FLSSP has been working to enhance Lake Sammamish State Park for over ten years to not only create a urban gem for people to recreate in, but also a park that is wildlife and climate friendly through our restoration work and tree planting. Last year, FLSSP began our work along Tibbetts Creek joining other organizations efforts including Trout Unlimited, the Snoqualmie Tribe, and Mountain to Sound Greenway Trust to restore the salmon bearing stream and provide better habitat for fish and wildlife. We planted over 160 trees and native shrubs in this site as well as eight large shade trees throughout the park to help provide shade and climate smart solutions at Lake Sammamish State Park. To learn more about our accomplishments in 2023 please visit our annual review or stop by our table!

We would love to have you stop by our table at the Issaquah Sustainability Fair to say hi and learn more about our work to support and enhance Lake Sammamish State Park and our efforts to create a vibrant sustainable climate friendly community at the park. We can’t wait to see you on March 30th at the Issaquah Sustainability Fair.
