Free Summer Programs for Children

We are thrilled to welcome our new Interpretive Specialist Adamus Weitzenfeld to Lake Sammamish State Park. Adamas, born and raised on Miami and Potawatomi ancestral lands, has worked as an interpretive ranger and environmental educator in Yosemite National Park, Crater Lake National Park, and Denali National Park and Preserve.

Adamus will be facilitating both Junior Ranger and Wonder Ranger programming for children of all ages.

Junior Ranger Program - Meets at Sunset Beach Bathhouse, 3pm, Fridays and Saturdays, July 5–August 31

Become a bird, a bat, a beaver… and a Junior Ranger as you learn about local wildlife and conservation through a different 30-minute interactive program each week. For youth ages 6 to 11.

Wonder Ranger Program - Meets at Sunset Beach Bathhouse, 1pm, Saturdays, July 13 – August 31

Deepen your sense of wonder through inquiry, exploration, and art with nature. Cultivate communication, critical thinking, & creative skills at a different 60-minute program each week on topics such as love and beauty. Reservations are encouraged. For youth ages 8 and up.

Folk and Traditional Arts Programs -Sunset Beach

Sundae Sermon, 2pm – 6pm, Sunday, July 14

A spirited event with a diverse set of black performers including youth, young adults and elders, black-owned vendors, artists, non-profits, and businesses.
